Jin Pal Hapkido

Hapkido, meaning the way (do) of power (ki) and coordination (hap), is a dynamic martial art that blends striking, joint locks, throws, and pressure points into a seamless flow of self-defense techniques, but what truly sets Hapkido apart is its profound philosophical foundation.

Circular Motion

Picture this: rather than colliding head-on, a Hapkido practitioner deflects and redirects an attacker's force. This principle of circular motion is akin to a spinning top, gracefully redirecting force with minimal effort. It's not about meeting force with force; it's about harmonizing with your opponent's energy.

The Water Principle

Imagine water flowing in a stream. When it encounters an obstacle, it doesn't forcefully push it away. Instead, it gracefully flows around it. In Hapkido, the water principle teaches practitioners to move fluidly around an opponent's attack, using their own momentum to gain control. Like water, Hapkido adapts and overcomes without unnecessary aggression.

Hapkido offers more than just physical techniques. It cultivates strength, agility, discipline, and self-confidence. As practitioners master the art of balance and fluidity, they develop a winning spirit and peace of mind. Whether you're looking to enhance your physical abilities, mental resilience, or overall harmony, Hapkido provides a unique path to personal growth.

Hapkido Regina is proud to partner with some amazing instructors from other styles and offer weekly classes out of our Dojang.
